Lavender Carriage House

The property was very secluded and quiet. With separate accommodations for my husband and I and our BFF, the arrangement was perfect. Our only issues were, the Central Air did not work - the day we arrived it was in the 90’s. I immediately contacted our host, but never received a reply and the problem was never fixed. Thankfully, the night time temperatures were pleasant enough that we were not totally suffering. The outside accommodations were not “inviting”, we had hoped to spend evenings in the private garden; but with only cast aluminum chairs and table - that did not work for us. The kitchen did not contain any cooking vessel to be used in the oven - casseroles, were out of the question … until we purchased aluminum “disposable” pans at the local grocery. But, aside from what we considered ‘ minor issues’ we enjoyed our stay. I just felt like I should leave a complete review - because I read them to help me make a good decision.

Great place to stay while wine tasting in the greater Santa Ynez Valley. Lovely setting on a lavender farm. The accommodations are complete, comfortable and straightforward. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen has all the basic items and worked well for making our breakfasts. Great for two wine tasting friends (our situation), two couples, or a family with several children.Jordan, the owner, was helpful with information about the area and very responsive to communications through the VRBO app.If you are a walker it is about 1 mile up to Los Olivos for morning coffee and pastries at Lefty's Coffee Co. or lunch at Los Olivos Cafe. J

mostly clean except ceiling fans were very dirty. Also no air conditioner in bedrooms. Not good in hot weather. We were disappointed that for a total cost of over 400 per night, no washer dryer and the conditioner above. Clearly the owner tried to make it nice but everything was pretty old. Also no nice outdoor space. Better options in Los Olivos

Jordan was very accommodating and very easy to reach out to. The weather was extremely hot and they were able to work with us and move us into the Lavender House. Both houses were very well appointed. We really appreciated how Jordan kept in touch and made us feel comfortable. We love to cook and our only suggestion would be to add a few more things to the kitchen like mixing bowls and whisks.

This was a very beautiful property with great essentials - nice bed, hot shower with great water pressure on a nice property that our dogs enjoyed. Jordan was very communicative and a very hospitable host. Thank you very much.
